The Maniar DSM-3020 3-wheeler is a compact desilting machine built on a three-wheeler goods vehicle. A hydraulic boom with a winch and a hydraulically operated grab bucket lifts silt out of manholes and drains to a depth of up to 32 ft, and a hydraulically operated silt hopper of 0.3 cum collects it.
The boom swings 90° to both sides, lifts at least 45° and has a working radius of 2.1 m. The grab bucket uses a four bar linkage and a double acting hydraulic cylinder to give a grabbing force of up to 2.8 tonnes, and the machine lifts a safe load of 25 kg (tested at 50 kg). Power for the hydraulic system is taken from the vehicle’s engine, and the hose reel on the boom carries a twin hose of at least 40 ft. A 20 litre oil tank and a Walvoil lever-type direction control valve complete the hydraulics.
It is manufactured by Maniar & Co. in Ahmedabad, India. See all desilting machines, or use the form below to get the full specification by email.
A hydraulic boom carries a four bar linkage grab bucket that lifts silt out of manholes and drains to a depth of up to 32 ft (about 10 m). The boom is raised and lowered hydraulically (45 degrees minimum), swings 90 degrees to both sides through a direct coupled high torque gear motor, has a manual extension with a locking arrangement and a working radius of 2.1 m.
A hydraulic winch on the boom raises and lowers the bucket: a hydro motor is fitted directly into a worm reduction gear box (9.5 kgm torque rating, alloy steel worm shaft, phosphorus bronze worm wheel) and drives a 6 mm x 40 ft galvanised wire rope with FMC core (Usha Martin or equivalent, 22.5 kN breaking strength). The double acting grab bucket cylinder, with moulded cast steel side jaws of 10 mm minimum, gives a grabbing force of up to 2.8 tonnes.
The silt is emptied into a hydraulically operated 0.3 cum hopper with a high dumping height, so it can be emptied directly into a container or compactor. The hopper is emptied at least 300 mm away horizontally from the rear of the chassis, and an embossed rear cover protects the rear of the chassis from silt. Power for the hydraulic system is taken from the vehicle engine.

The grab bucket reaches a maximum travelling depth of 32 ft (about 10 m).
The safe load is 25 kg (tested at 50 kg). The grab bucket has a grabbing force of up to 2.8 tonnes.
The hydraulically operated silt hopper holds 0.3 cum. Its high dumping height allows silt to be emptied directly into a container or compactor.
It is built on a three-wheeler goods vehicle. Hydraulic power is taken from the vehicle engine.
The boom swings 90 degrees to both sides and has a working radius of 2.1 m. It lifts at least 45 degrees, and the boom extension is manual with a locking arrangement.
The 3-wheeler is built on a three-wheeler goods vehicle with a 0.3 cum hopper. The 4-wheeler is built on a Tata Ace Gold BS VI chassis with a 0.5 cum hopper. Both have the same boom, winch and grab bucket specification.
