SS-8000 High Flow Suction Machine

SS-8000 High Flow Suction Machine (Super Sucker), 8000 Litre

The Maniar SS-8000 is the entry model in the Super Sucker range: a truck-mounted high flow suction machine with an 8000 litre tank and a 2500 cum/hr rotary lobe vacuum pump, built on a 16 ton GVW BS VI chassis. As a sewer suction machine and vacuum tanker, it cleans sewer lines, cesspits and cesspools by siphoning out mud, slurry, sludge and other material. An optional jetting facility lets it jet and vacuum a line in one pass. It suits crews that need more suction flow than a standard vacuum tanker gives, without moving up to the larger SS-15000 or SS-20000.

It is manufactured by Maniar & Co. in Ahmedabad, India. See all super sucker machines, or use the form below to get the full specification by email.

How the SS-8000 Works

A Jurop (or equivalent) rotary lobe vacuum pump, driven through a full torque split shaft PTO fitted between the vehicle gearbox and differential, creates a vacuum of up to 93% in the sludge tank. This draws the effluent in through a 100 mm x 15 m heavy duty PVC suction hose and a 100 mm ball valve. Two ball-float shut-offs inside the tank, a stainless steel mesh suction strainer and an exhaust silencer protect the pump from overflow and solids and keep the noise down.

Solid silt that has settled in the line is stirred by high velocity air and converted into a liquid or semi-liquid form that can be sucked up. When the tank is full, a blow-back system pressurises it and discharges only the water, so the truck carries away sludge and not the water that came with it. At the disposal point, a front-mounted hydraulic cylinder tips the tank and the rear door opens hydraulically against a heavy duty rubber gasket.

Key Features

  • 8000 litre cylindrical tank in 6 mm mild steel (IS:2062) with internal baffle, ladder, lifting hook and side railings
  • Rotary lobe vacuum pump, 2500 cum/hr flow, up to 93% vacuum, air injection cooling
  • 100 mm x 15 m heavy duty PVC suction hose with 100 mm suction and discharge ball valves
  • Primary and secondary ball-float shut-offs, stainless steel mesh suction strainer and exhaust silencer
  • Sludge stirring by high velocity air and a blow-back system that discharges only the water
  • Hydraulic tank tipping (front-mounted cylinder) and hydraulically opening rear door with rubber seal
  • Full torque split shaft PTO drive on a 16 ton GVW BS VI chassis
  • Small crane for lifting manhole lids
  • Optional jetting facility on its own auxiliary engine, with a boom-mounted hose reel
  • Sludge level indicator, compound gauge, and imported Italian quick coupler, pressure relief and vacuum relief valves
  • Two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of PU / synthetic enamel finish

Optional Jetting Facility

The SS-8000 can be fitted with a jetting pump that runs on its own auxiliary engine, independent of the vacuum pump drive. The truck can therefore jet a line and vacuum out what it loosens in the same pass, instead of doing the two jobs separately. The pump is sized to the task:

  • Small pump (from 70 LPM): washing down equipment and the work area after the job, not line clearing
  • Large pump (up to 330 LPM): clearing large-diameter underground drainage pipe (roughly 750 to 1500 mm)

The jetting hose is carried on a boom that rotates 90 degrees to either side of the vehicle, so it can be positioned around whatever is in the way at the site.

Jetting Nozzles

Two nozzles are supplied as standard whenever the jetting facility is fitted. The conical head nozzle (front and rear holes) is the general-purpose choice: it balances forward penetration with enough rear thrust to pull the hose along the line. The round head nozzle (front and rear holes) trades some penetration for a wider spray, which is better for flushing loosened debris back out.

Penetrators, root cutters, descaling nozzles and rotating nozzles can also be supplied for more specialised jobs.

Ideal For

  • Crews that need higher suction flow than a standard vacuum truck without moving up to the 4150 cum/hr SS-15000
  • Cleaning sewer lines, cesspits and cesspools of mud, slurry and sludge
  • Sites that also need jetting, using the optional jetting facility alongside suction
  • Jobs where hauling sludge without the water saves trips to the disposal point

Basic Specification

The SS-8000 carries 8000 litres in a 6 mm mild steel tank on a 16 ton GVW BS VI chassis. Its rotary lobe vacuum pump delivers 2500 cum/hr at up to 93% vacuum through a 100 mm x 15 m suction hose. The tank is tipped and the rear door opened hydraulically. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SS-8000 Super Sucker used for?

The SS-8000 is a truck-mounted high flow suction machine for cleaning sewer lines, cesspits and cesspools. It siphons out mud, slurry, sludge and other material into a 8000 litre tank.

What is the vacuum pump flow and maximum vacuum of the SS-8000?

The SS-8000 has a Jurop or equivalent rotary lobe vacuum pump with a flow of 2500 cum/hr and a maximum vacuum of 93%. The pump is air cooled by air injection.

What suction hose does the SS-8000 use?

A 100 mm diameter heavy duty PVC suction hose, 15 metres long, with 100 mm ball valves on the suction and discharge sides.

What chassis and tank does the SS-8000 have?

The 8000 litre cylindrical tank is made of 6 mm mild steel (IS:2062) with internal baffles and is mounted on a 16 ton GVW BS VI chassis. The tank is tipped by a front-mounted hydraulic cylinder and the rear door opens hydraulically.

Does the SS-8000 offer a jetting facility?

Yes, as an option. The jetting pump runs on its own auxiliary engine, so the SS-8000 can jet and vacuum in the same pass. A small pump (from 70 LPM) is for washdown and a large pump (up to 330 LPM) is for clearing large-diameter underground drainage pipe. The jetting hose is carried on a boom that rotates 90 degrees to either side.

Does the SS-8000 include a crane?

Yes. A small crane is included for lifting manhole lids.

How is the SS-8000 different from the SS-15000 and SS-20000?

The SS-8000 has an 8000 litre tank, a 2500 cum/hr pump and a 16 ton GVW chassis. The SS-15000 has a 15000 litre tank, a 4150 cum/hr pump and a 28 ton GVW chassis, and the SS-20000 has a 20000 litre tank and a 6400 cum/hr pump. All three use a 100 mm x 15 m suction hose.
